| Well, here I am... finally updating! A lot has happened since I wrote last winter. The biggest change happened whe Brian was laid off from his job in housing construction. Without skipping a beat, he went right to trucking school and is now at the end of his training period to be a coast to coast long haul trucker. He hauls grocery and produce items. Okay, okay, last weekend he was hauling beer... but that isn't the usual thing. Usually it's frozen groceries or some other chilled produce. He has learned a lot. It's not an easy task to drive a big rig. It's not easy to be away from home during his dispatches either. I'm sure I could never do it! ... drive a rig or be gone from home either one. But we are all adjusting.
Sarah and I got into a good routine here at home. We had everything under control, house in good shape, lives orderly and comfortable. Then Bethany and Kevin came home from college! Just kidding, the house is fuller and noisier and messier, but we love them anyway. I'm still secretary/treasurer at the elementary school. The downturn in the economy has it's ill effects on the school system. Most noticeable is lower enrollment as people move away to find jobs. So far, I still have a job next year, but it will be a challenging year for our public school system. | | |
| It's been forever since I updated this. I mostly do Facebook now, so sorta forgot about Xanga. This January is rather quiet.... lots of fluffy snow.... but even more quiet is that Kevin is back at college and Bethany is in London for a month with a college group and Sarah has her driver's license and works now.... so the house is way too quiet. So sad. At the end of Christmas break the kids and I all got the stomach flu... wow, we were really terribly sick. Somehow Brian escaped the dreaded disease. But the rest of us think we got cheated out of a week's vacation while we were sick and recovering! I got a digital camera for Christmas... and I LOVE IT!! I drove everyone crazy taking pictures through Christmas.

| I'm choosing yellow for my background because I want the sun to come out and stay for a while! This past weekend we had SNOW!! In APRIL!!!! It was disgusting. Over spring break we got Sarah's room ready for painting and got the most part of the painting done, and nearly all the immediate shopping done that was needed to redecorate her room. This week I've been sponge painting on the walls. I still have some more to go there, but it's coming along. My diet went really well, and the end result is that I lost the 10 pounds I needed to in order to fit my spring clothing. Yippie!! | | |
| Gained a pound or so of the weight back... hmmmm.... this is going to be trickier than I thought. I'm not really a very good dieter, and unfortunately you have to eat less to lose weight. And that's certainly no fun!  School was hectic this week. There was just a lot to get done. We ended up with two school delays this past week due to snow, the week before we had one delay day and one cancellation. We are wondering if we will ever get to have a full week of school. Although Sarah likes the sleeping in part when we have delays. | | |
| Weigh in at school.... I broke even, nothing lost, but no pounds gained either. I'm happy. It started snowing here last night, and is still snowing now. School was cancelled and Brian couldn't make it to work today either. So, Brian is working on the electrical wiring in Tim's barn, Sarah is playing video games with her day off school. I'm doing laundry, working on paperwork so I'll be ready to do 2007 taxes and FAFSA, and cleaning out my pantry today. Oh yes, I'm also on the internet to answer emails and update my xanga and facebook. Oh yes... and we are staying warm.  | | |
